Now it seems New Line Cinema are keen to capitalise of the growing phenomenon and get the hotly anticipated sequel into production as quickly as possible – penciling in an official release date of 6 September 2019.

Gary Bauberman, the genius behind Pennywise’s return, has likely already got a script prepped and ready to go, so we could see Chapter 2 start filming as early as June next year.
Bill Skarsgard has already agreed to return as the devilish character, with the story setting place 27 years after the first as Pennywise returns from hell to reap his revenge.
Jessica Chastain is already in talks for the sequel after actress Sophia Lillis, who plays Beverly, expressed her desire to see the Oscar-nominee take over her character.
It floated into cinemas to a record-breaking $189m opening weekend shatter a host of box office records in the process, with the current worldwide haul standing at over $450m. Not bad for a film with a budget of only $35m.
