There’s a new superhero heavy weight on the horizon, and for once it’s not a product of Marvel Studios or DC Comics expansive cinematic universes.
It was discovered earlier this year that M. Night Shyamalan’s chilling supernatural horror Split, starring James McAvoy, was in fact an unexpected sequel to his box office hit Unbreakable which hit cinemas back in 2000.
For those who’ve seen Split, you’ll remember Bruce Willis making a brief cameo during the end sequence which confirmed that Shyamalan had in fact created a shared universe between Split and Unbreakable.
Well with work on the script for a third film all but completed, Shyamalan confirmed this week that the third, and final, film in what has become a trilogy, will be called Glass – a reference to Samuel L. Jackson’s character from Unbreakable.
So what will the story of Glass be about?
Well its still a little sketchy but it appears that the main synopsis of the story will revolve around David Dunn (Bruce Willis) hunting a now dangerous Crumb (James McAvoy), also known as The Beast, through New York City. Both superhuman’s will find themselves the focus of Mr Glass (Samuel L. Jackson) who holds information crucial to the future of both characters.
Glass looks set to be an incredible thriller that will put both M. Night Shyamalan and Bruce Willis back on the map after a tough period in their illustrious careers.
