Warner Bros I hope you are listening because the people are demanding that Neil Patrick Harris play The Riddler alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman.
In a world seemingly governed by petitions, fans of the DC Extended Universe have banded together to encourage Warner Bros Pictures to cast NPH as the intelligent villain.
Considering the character’s prominance in the DC comic books, it’s surprising that he’s not been seen on the big screen for over 20 years, especially considering we’ve had an entire Batman trilogy in the time since Jim Carrey wore those green spandex.
So with a brand-new Batman trilogy on the horizon, and Ben Affleck set to continue as the Dark Knight (contrary to what his brother recently said), there could well be a place for Neil Patrick Harris and The Riddler.
If rumours are to be believed, Warner Bros Pictures had originally planned to cameo The Riddler in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Jesse Eisenberg attached to the character – he was of course eventually cast as Lex Luthor instead.
Anyway, with The Batman and Suicide Squad 2 all due to hit production over the next 12 months, there’s plenty of opportunity for The Riddler to make a sensational return to the big screen.
