Surely at point soon somebody has to take on the role of James Bond, because the iconic role seems to be stuck in the middle of game of cat and mouse.
Daniel Craig is still very much undecided on his future as the British secret agent and is yet to officially commit to another movie, despite recent rumours suggesting he’d struck a deal with Sony Pictures.
Speaking recently to a US radio station ahead of the release of his latest movie Logan Lucky, the in-demand actor set the record straight about where he currently stands… which to be honest appears to be nowhere.
Will Craig ever commit to the further movies? No knows. He certain isn’t in it for the money after rejecting a $150 million offer from Sony last year to reprise the role for another two movies.
Perhaps it’s time to hand over the keys to the Aston to another British actor and get the franchise back on the production line.
Daniel Craig is without a doubt one of the greatest actors to don the tux, and certainly the most critically successful with his four movies having grossed over $3 billion worldwide – but it looks like he’s had enough of the rigorous demands of the role.
So who looks like the best replacement for the role? Well Tom Hardy, Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston have all had their names thrown into the gauntlet, although the latter has since found himself out of the running.
Personally I’d love to see Idris Elba take over the role – the man is definitely a worthy candidate. Guess we’ll have to wait a little longer to see what the future of 007 entails.
