Avengers: Infinity War will focus on the same core characters

We'll also finally see Thanos wield all six Infinity Stones

Avengers: Infinity War is already promising to be one of the biggest cinematic events in history, with an estimated 60 Marvel characters in one epic film that will see Thanos finally go up against the Avengers.

But with such a massive cast, how could we possibly see all these characters populate a film at the same time?

The answer appears to have been answered by Joe Russo, one half of the talented brotherhood that have taken up the challenge to make Avengers: Infinity War a reality.

Speaking recently at San Diego Comic Con, Joe teased some info surround the mysterious Infinity Stones as well as giving us a hint of the blockbusters main characters. As we suspected, Infinity War will once again focus most of its screen time on the core Avengers, so Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America (aka Nomad) will take centre stage once again for the biggest battle the universe has ever seen.

You know, the story really centers who you would expect it to center around, so our more important characters. This is a culmination film ten years in the making and we are pulling the main story threads from all of the different franchises into one unifying narrative. So any of the important characters are going to be in this film and they are going to have something important to do in the movie.Joe Russo

So far in the Cinematic Universe, fans have seen 5 Infinity Stones surface in several film including Captain America, Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy. However one still remains unaccounted for, the Soul Stone, which could finally make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. It has already been confirmed that the upcoming third instalment in the Thor franchise will set up Avengers: Infinity.

The Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Doctor Strange will all appear in Avengers: Infinity War, alongside returning Avengers characters, when it hits cinemas around the world next April (2018).
