Universal eyes Box Office domination with its Dark Cinematic Universe

Universal Pictures is pulling out all the stops as it sets it’s sights firmly on global box office domination with its Dark Universe – recruiting almost half of Hollywood in the process.

Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem are just some of the a-listers already signed up to this ‘monster universe’, and with even more projects in the making, Universal will quickly become a serious contender at the global box office.

Reports have recently surfaced that Universal have added Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame to it’s shared universe portfolio – one that already includes The Mummy, The Invisible Man and Frankenstein.

Alex Kurtzman, who’s helmed the soon to be released The Mummy reboot, spoke about some of the exciting projects already in development at the world-renowned movie studio;

We know we’re going to do Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Invisible Man…

With a phenomenal array of characters just waiting to be brought to life, Universal has it’s sights set of some of Hollywood’s elite, including Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron – although just who they’d play is anyone’s guess.

Sounds like there’s some exciting times ahead for all you movie buffs, especially when the shared universe really starts to get going and character begin to transition into multiple films.
