Marvel has become one of the biggest and busiest movie studios in the world – churning out an incredible number of successful blockbusters in it’s record-breaking Cinematic Universe.
Recently, Kevin Feige, the head-honcho over at Marvel Studios, spoke about the very real possibility of a solo spinoff for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow character.
Johansson has become somewhat of a fan-favourite since making her character debut alongside Robert Downey Jr in 2010’s Iron Man 2, and fans have regularly vocalised their desire for a dedicated spinoff for the ex-KGB assign turned Avenger.
Whilst speaking with Deadline, Feige spoke of his love for the character and her importance as a lead Avenger:
It’s great news for fans of the character, but don’t expect to see Johansson in her own solo movie any time soon – Marvel is very busy with it’s releases until 2019 and intends to complete ‘Phase 3’ of its Cinematic Universe before exploring any other projects.
Regardless of when a Black Widow movie finally gets the green-light, fans can rest assured that Scarlett Johansson is committed to the character for the long term and will remain top of the pile, thanks largely in part to her incredible ‘star power’ in Hollywood.
