Star Wars: The Last Jedi is already gearing up to be the movie event of the year and another sure fire box office smash for Disney – but will the eighth instalment really signal the end of all Jedi or is it just a reference to Luke Skywalker?
The answer… no idea. At least nothing concrete.
However what we do know is that the fate of this galactic order will at some point lay firmly on the shoulders of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley.

So what do we know so far?
Well for starters, Solo was betrayed and killed by his son Kylo Ren, something that shocked and disappointed us no end – so retribution will surely be on the agenda for the next instalment now that Rey has tracked down the illusive Luke Skywalker. Let’s hope there’s an epic battle between Skywalker and Ren, as Mark Hamill now takes centre stage once again in the franchise.
Finn isn’t fairing so well after his beating at the hands of Kylo Ren – perhaps The Last Jedi will see John Boyega reap a little bit of payback as well.
Poe and BB-8 seem to be back together in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and will likely feature heavily once again in the story – no complaints there.
And lastly, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will mark the last time the late, and great, Carrie Fisher will be seen on the big screen after her sad and unexpected passing last year. Out of respect for the actress and her family, Disney have already stated that they will write Princess Leia out of the franchise instead of recreating her presence in Episode 9 using CGI.
One thing is certain, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be the movie event of the year when it hits cinemas worldwide this Christmas.
