Jurassic World was such a phenomenon when it hits cinemas back in 2015, thanks in part to the huge star power of Chris Pratt, that the chances of a successful sequel would prove tricky – but that does tend to be the case with most sequels.
However it appears Universal have cemented their future box office triumph by announcing recently that original franchise star, and all-round legend, Jeff Goldblum would be returning to the character of Ian Malcolm.
If you wondering how Jeff returns and why, this knowledge is very much locked away at this stage with the rest of the films plot, however we could see the dinosaurs once again come face to face with the rest of mankind as the focus of the story moves away from their secluded paradise island – although this is pure speculation and theory.
The announcement of Jeff Goldblum’s return could also signal a possible return for his original co-stars Sam Neill and Laura Dern, who’ve always been open to the idea of awakening their characters once again.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see, but at least Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel – and who knows, maybe Jeff will re-create his famous Jurassic Park scene for all you women out there.
Jurassic World 2 hits cinemas from 8 June 2018, an incredible 25 years after the original first hit the big screen.
