Let me point out straight away that this news hasn’t been confirmed by anyone remotely close to the production of Marvel‘s colossal Avengers: Infinity War – but Chris Pratt is likely set for a major starring role in the upcoming blockbuster.
Despite many asking why, the answer is in fact quite simple… Chris Pratt is arguably the biggest movie star on the planet right now, and his character Star Lord has become one of the most popular heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So why wouldn’t he be one of the main stars in the next Avengers installment?
Although Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy co-stars have all signed on for the project in supporting roles, it’s likely that the Jurassic World star will have a sizable role to play in the storyline – when you consider Peter Quill’s place in the Marvel story, and Pratt’s incredible star power, how could they not make him a focal point alongside Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth.
Avengers: Infinity War is already gearing up to be one of the most star-studded films in history, with the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Tom Holland and Samuel L. Jackson, among others, all signed on to reprise their respective roles.
No details have been released yet, but what we do know is Josh Brolin’s Thanos will finally get his time to shine as he goes up against most of the MCU’s heroes in an epic showdown that will likely smash any and all box office records when it hits cinemas worldwide next year.
