Joss Whedon is seen by many as the Godfather of ‘Earth’s mightiest heroes’ and the man that helmed both Avengers blockbusters as they obliterated the worldwide box office, earning a combined $3 billion and cemented themselves as one of the most successful film franchise of all time.
Now it seems the Oscar-nominee is ready to team up once again with Marvel for Scarlett Johansson’s recently announced Black Widow spin-off.
Speaking exclusively at last week’s Comic Con International, Whedon expressed his desire and eagerness to return to the superhero genre and direct the solo movie that follows the exploits of super-spy Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Widow).
Of course this is still hearsay at the moment, as no official confirmation has been released by either Whedon or Marvel Studios, though considering the man’s record with the franchise, they’d be stupid not to snap him up.
Black Widow herself Scarlett Johansson has already committed to a spin-off movie, as well as several other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the upcoming juggernauts Avengers: Infinity War – Parts 1 and 2.
