Its been a horrid couple of months for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, what with weeks of reshoots and termoil regarding the overall feel of the film – but there’s finally some exciting news for eager Star Wars fans.
Darth Vader, one of the greatest cinematic villains in history, is making his return to the big screen for the spin-off installment in Disney’s global franchise.
Considering the story of Rogue One takes place just before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, it was enevitable that Vader himself would be a part of the story – and Disney has already confirmed that James Earl Jones will once again lend his voice to the legendary Sith Lord.
Speaking recently to Entertainment Weekly, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told fans that Vader would not take a major role in the film but would be very important to the story;
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will take place before the events of George Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy and will follow a group of rebels, lead by Oscar-nominated star Felicity Jones, as they set out to steal the plans for the infamous Death Star.
Rogue One is due for release on December 16. Check out the trailer here »
