Filming of the next installment in the Transformers franchise is already underway, with Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg returning for leading man duties, alongside original cast member Josh Duhamel, who makes his return as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox.
Now it seems another major franchise character may be joining the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight – reports suggest previous leading man Shia LeBeouf, who played Sam Witwicky in the first 3 installments, could be in talks with director Michael Bay about a possible role in the film.
Last week the official Twitter account for Transformers sent out a mysterious and crytic tweet that possible hints towards Shia LeBeouf‘s character;

It would be a surprise if LeBeouf makes a return to the franchise considering fellow alumni Tyrese Gibson has publically announced his desire to return, not to mention recent speculation that Megan Fox, who is currently starring in Michael Bay’s other franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, could also be in talks for what is gearing up to be a major blockbuster reunion.
Transformers: The Last Knight hits cinemas everywhere from 23 June 2017.
