We already know that Avengers: Infinity Wars, the pièce de résistance of the Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU), is set to be one of the biggest events in cinema history and likely smash all known box office records – but things just got even more exciting thanks to the collective minds behind the upcoming blockbusters.
The Russo brother’s, who just made their Marvel debut with the box office smash Captain America: Civil War, teased the possibility of Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord joining the already stellar-cast during a live podcast recently.
Let’s be honest, considering Star-Lord’s affiliation with the ‘Infinity Stones’ that make up such a crucial story-arch in the MCU, not to mention the sheer star power that Chris Pratt holds in Hollywood, it was obvious that the character would be involved at some point during the two-part saga. Star-Lord, who was first introduced to cinema audiences in 2015’s Guardians of the Galaxy, is a fundamental character in the comic books – known for being one of the only human’s to control an ‘Infinity Stone’.
Avengers: Infinity Wars will see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk team up with a whole host of Marvel heroes to take on the big bad himself, Thanos. The films, which mark the crucial turning point in Marvel’s four-phased franchise, are due to hit cinemas in 2017 and 2018.
