Major movie news alert! According to some sources in the UK, Avengers and Crimson Peak star Tom Hiddleston could be close to a deal that would see him named as Daniel Craig‘s successor for the illustrious role of James Bond.
Though these rumours have not been confirmed yet, the MailOnline has learned from sources that Hiddleston was spotted meeting with Bond director Sam Mendes and franchise producer Barbara Broccoli – most likely over the actors ability to fill the famous spy’s shoes that were unexpectedly vacated recently by Daniel Craig, shortly after the release of Spectre.
It wouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering Hiddleston’s huge star appeal thanks to his role as Loki in Marvel’s Avengers franchise, but many fans had been hoping perhaps Craig would change his mind and return for one last outing as the world-famous 007. Not likely though considering the comments made by the actor late last year.
It’s no wonder reading those comments that Sam Mendes, who’s already expressed his desire to return as director for another film, has already started to actively find the replacement.
Several of Britain’s biggest actors have been linked with the role over the last six months including Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Nicholas Hoult and Henry Cavill – however it now seems as though Tom Hiddleston may be the guy to continue the franchise.
Stay tuned as we bring you all the latest regarding James Bond and who will be confirmed as the new 007.
