It’s been one of the most in demand parts in Hollywood since the announcement of the project last year – and now we’ve finally been introduced to the actor that will stepping into the shoes of one of the most beloved characters in film history, Han Solo.
Alden Ehrenreich remains a relatively unknown talent despite appearing in films such as Blue Jasmine, Hail, Caesar! and Beautiful Creatures, but his name will now become synonymous with a part every young actor in Hollywood has been dreaming of.
Disney announced last year that it would be expanding it’s recently acquired Star Wars universe to include a solo franchise dedicated to the early years of smuggler-extraordinaire Han Solo, made famous by none other than the great Harrison Ford. Since then it’s been whittling down a star-studded list of potential suitors until finally settling on Alden Ehrenreich, who was originally discovered by legendary director Steven Spielberg only a couple of years ago.
The solo franchise (excuse the pun!) is due to start production later this year with Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller behind the helm – the story surrounding the character has yet to be released, but early indications suggest it will center around how Solo became the famous smuggler.
