Pleasantville – Trailer[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e hope you’ve had a great weekend and aren’t too down about the coming week at work or school. Regardless, we at The Hollywood Fly have a great afternoon film to take your mind off of that dreaded Monday – head back to the days of black and white TV with the visual classic, Pleasantville.
Plot: David (Toby Maguire) is your quintessential high school outsider who’s only true social interaction occurs while watching re-runs of his favourite old-school TV series, that is until a mysterious TV repair man transports David and his rebelious sister Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) into the show itself.
Faced with the prospect of being stuck there until they both come to the necessary life conclusions, they soon start to discover a real world that’s in desperate need to some colour (both metaphorically and literally).
Pleasantville has always drifted slightly under the mainstream radar, despite it’s stellar-cast, yet it offers a refreshing and uplifting story that will have you ready to jump into your own TV (please don’t though, it’s just make-believe!).
Cast: Toby Maguire, Reese Witherspoon, William H. Macy, Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels, Paul Walker
