Is Captain Marvel Confirmed For ‘Avengers: Infinity War’?

When it comes to a franchise as colossal in size as Marvel‘s Avengers universe, it would become difficult to keep every little secret from accidentally slipping out – something the Russo Brothers discovered the other day while speaking at the Smithsonian Institute.

While discussing their new film Captain America: Civil War, the two brothers accidentally let slip regarding the introduction of Captain Marvel in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity Wars films.

It didn’t take long for audience members to switch into overdrive as they tried to coerce more information about the character from the filmmakers, who in turn tried their best to deflect attention away from the subject matter.

Many hardcore Marvel fans have been expecting the inclusion of Captain Marvel for some time – with several of Hollywood‘s leading actresses being linked to the part fir some time, including Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, who appears to remain the favourite with Marvel execs due to her global star power.

It’s worth pointing out that a Captain Marvel stand-alone movie has already been announced for release in between the two Avengers: Infinity War blockbusters, so an appearance for Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) is not entirely out of the question, especially considering the enormity of the final Avengers films.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see – but for the record, our money is on an announcement sooner rather than later.
